Because the City of St. Marks had not seen the same prosperity that other coastal communities in Florida had experienced in the past few decades, the City recently re-examined its approach to new development along the waterfront. Using the report created by the St. Marks visioning committee as a starting point and taking advantage of recent events and opportunities, the City of St. Marks is preparing for its rebirth as a landmark coastal village.

Plan St. Marks: The City of St. Marks is currently undergoing the process of creating a Master Plan for the city. The goal of the master plan is to revitalize the city and to guide development in a way that retains the city’s small coastal village charm and protects the important natural resources in the area.
